They lie in a carefully orchestrated system, one that was born from the National Islamic Front (NIF), matured into military-industrial rule, and now masquerades as a neutral "transitional" authority under various guises.
🔁 The Cycle: From Mujahid to Marshal
The same elements that once supported or sheltered militant movements abroad, including logistical support to Islamist fighters in southern Afghanistan have now donned the garb of "counterterrorism partners." This transformation is not ideological; it's cosmetic. The deep state architecture that:
Enabled the rise of extremist networks under the banner of "pilgrimage conferences" and anti-colonial solidarity.
Engineered wars across Sudan's own geography, weaponizing religion and ethnicity, exporting terrorism into the Horn of Africa.
Systematically dismantled civilian institutions and repressed opposition.

Military Council is labeled as reliable because they "control borders."
Civilian movements are deemed naïve, radical, or disorganized.
Regional powers are granted impunity as long as they help contain migration or suppress insurgencies useful to Western goals.
The Sudanese case is glaring. The Military Council, birthed from the same Islamist-military elite that orchestrated decades of genocides, war and repression, is now seen by some global actors as a lesser evil or even a partner in "security."
But what kind of stability is built on recycled violence?
What kind of peace can grow in a soil sown with lies?
If the world forgot, Sudan will not forget.

This chilling reply delivered during a personal phone exchange with a man close to Hassan al-Turabi and his wife was not a slip of arrogance. It was a revelation. A candid window into how Sudan's Islamist-military elite view justice not as principle, but as possession. Not as accountability, but as leverage.
That moment wasn't an anomaly. It was the essence of a system that still governs not just Sudan's broken state, but the geopolitical theater around it.
🏗️ From Patronage to Prosecution: A Carefully Staged Transformation
Since the early 1990s, Sudan's ruling establishment led then by Omar al-Bashir and ideologically engineered by al-Turabi's National Islamic Front served as a hub for global jihadist infrastructure. Key facts reveal this trajectory:
Harbored Osama bin Laden (Khartoum, 1991–1996), offering him safe passage and assets.

This would be a tragedy if it were accidental. But it is worse, it is strategic complicity.
International powers that once denounced al-Bashir's regime now extend handshakes to its military offshoots. Why?

- Regional power balance: Egypt, the UAE, and others find these remnants useful pawns against revolutionary or democratic movements.

So when the remnant regime says "We control the one who controls it," they are not far off. Justice is no longer an endpoint. It is a tool of alignment.

They paved the way for everything unraveling in Sudan today.
I foresaw this. I warned Freedom and Change. I laid out what would happen and why, but personal ambitions overrode purpose.
