Sudan as a Modern Case Study of Fear-Driven Collapse!

Sudan as a Modern Case Study of Fear-Driven Collapse: Things Sudanese people still don't understand well: The recent fragmentation of Sudan has rooted in the first step to fragment it into north Sudan and South Sudan. I warned of this before it started in my conference paper titled "Mechanisms of Peace". They don't listen. I said and wrote many times that the conspiracy of the party of the Muslim Brother in one of its last name "National Islamic Front (NIF)" will destroy Sudan further to satisfy its interests and the interests of the Arab and Muslim states in the gulf area, especially Saudi Arabia, in addition to Egypt. No one has listened. I don't know other words than, idiocy, ignorance and selfishness I can use to describe my people! I always say facts even about myself. So, no personal issue intended, but only the national one.

Sudan as a Modern Case Study of Fear-Driven Collapse: This is what the conspiracy of Arabization has done to Sudan: it left Africa’s once-largest country, stretching a million square miles ruined in a way unlike any other in history.... When will Sudanese people awaken to this long-running conspiracy? When will they set aside the personal dream of building wealth for themselves and their families, and focus instead on reclaiming their nation’s full territory? The simple question remains: what good is wealth if you have no country to call home?Sudan as a Modern Case Study of Fear-Driven Collapse: This is what the conspiracy of Arabization has done to Sudan: it left Africa’s once-largest country, stretching a million square miles ruined in a way unlike any other in history.... Sudan’s downfall wasn’t sudden. It was a gradual unraveling, a slow decay of optimism, logic, and endurance worn away not by warfare, but by fear. Not fear of violence or military might, but of transformation: of secular thought, of youth stepping into power. In this piece, we explore Sudan not merely as a geopolitical collapse, but as a psychological lens, where entrenched fears, rigid traditions, and the politicization of religion merged to smother a nation's aspirations for renewal.

Sudan did not fall in one moment. Its collapse was a slow erosion of hope, reason, and resilience... chiseled away by fear. Not fear of bullets or tanks, but fear of change, of secularism, of the young taking charge. In this article, we examine Sudan not simply as a geopolitical crisis, but as a psychological case study... where deeply embedded anxieties, traditionalism, and the weaponization of religion conspired to derail a nation’s chance at rebirth.

1. Nostalgia as National Policy: The Psychological Grip of the Past

The Sudanese revolution was haunted by ghosts. Rather than embracing the uncertainty of progress, many clung to memories of a familiar, though failing past. Family legacy, religious ritual, and communal identity became emotional anchors. Change didn’t just threaten power structures... it threatened personal meaning.

Fear told people that letting go of tradition meant letting go of themselves. As a result, change was interpreted not as growth, but betrayal.

2. Religion as a Shield Against Reform

In Sudan, religion is more than belief... it’s identity, governance, and often, immunity. Secularism wasn’t seen as political neutrality, it was painted as heresy. Institutions and political parties, deeply rooted in sectarian loyalty, used fear of "godlessness" to resist reform. This fear wasn’t spontaneous, it was a deliberate mechanism, cultivated over decades to ensure obedience. When religion is fused with state power, fear becomes sacred, and dissent becomes sacrilege.

3. Generational Sabotage: The Betrayal of Youth Leadership

My call to Sudanese youth: "You don’t even need me; take my lessons and lead yourselves" should have ignited a torch. Instead, it exposed how terrified many elders were of becoming irrelevant.

Though the youth had energy and clarity, they were often stalled by older generations unwilling to step aside. Fear of obsolescence became disguised as wisdom. This refusal to yield space became a psychological chokehold on the revolution’s momentum.

4. Fear of Collapse: The Fatal Appeal of Compromise

When the sit-in outside the military headquarters grew, fear worked both sides. The regime feared loss of control; the revolution feared losing the moment. And into this tension stepped manipulation.

The military pretended to remove Bashir, offering negotiations to the very groups protesting them. And while I warned against it: "Do not negotiate with killers. Negotiation grants legitimacy," fear of chaos convinced many to accept the offer.

The result was catastrophic. Legitimation of illegitimate power. Blood in the streets. A revolution aborted.

5. Collapse by Agreement: When Fear Wears a Suit

The illusion of a "power-sharing agreement" became the final nail. With foreign figures like the Ethiopian PM orchestrating a deal, it was packaged as diplomacy. In reality, it was fear-driven appeasement.

My public outcry was prophetic: "This is not reconciliation. This is surrender."
By giving the remnants of Bashir’s regime a seat at the table, the revolution validated the very machine that oppressed it.

And just as I warned, the regime regrouped. War returned. The youth were scattered. And Sudan began bleeding people, not just ideals.

Lessons Etched in Loss

Sudan is no longer just a revolution... it’s a cautionary tale. It’s what happens when fear masquerades as pragmatism, when compromise replaces conviction, when nostalgia overpowers necessity.

But even in collapse, Sudan offers clarity. Not every fear deserves accommodation. Some demand confrontation.

The next movement, wherever it emerges, must remember this: The greatest threat to change is not resistance from power. It is compliance, born of fear, from those who once demanded change.

Things Sudanese People Still Don’t Know: Seeds of Fragmentation, Sown in Silence!

The recent disintegration of Sudan isn't a sudden collapse—it is the result of a long, deliberate unraveling. Many fail to see that the moment the country was carved into North and South Sudan, the blueprint for future fragmentation was already etched in stone. That first split was not simply about ethnicity or regional tension. It was, in fact, the beginning of the end—a political and ideological engineering that too few recognized.

Years ago, in my conference paper “Mechanisms of Peace,” I warned of this trajectory. I cautioned that allowing identity politics, religious extremism, and external manipulation to shape national policy would not bring peace but ignite deeper fault lines. I named the danger: the National Islamic Front (NIF)—a political mask worn by the Muslim Brotherhood in Sudan.

This was no ordinary party. It was a calculated machinery, thriving on the fragmentation of national identity. It fed the illusion of Islamic unity while serving geopolitical interests far beyond Sudan’s borders, particularly those of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and other Gulf states. Whether for ideological allegiance, economic leverage, or strategic depth, Sudan became a pawn in their games. And the Sudanese people? Too often caught between misplaced loyalty and manipulated silence.

I wrote, I spoke, I pleaded: Don’t let the NIF redefine Sudan’s future through exclusion and distortion. But instead of dialogue, there was denial. Instead of introspection, deflection. And so we find ourselves here—more fractured than ever.

To those who still can’t or won’t see it, I ask: How much more must splinter before truth becomes acceptable?

The Global Dynamics Include More Behind The Scenes Deterioration Allover the World & Provide Solutions!

Imagine a person who has never lived in his homeland because of all of this and continued to escape from it to another land where he also found another dictator and fled to another land where he also fond a dictator and kept fleeing for more than 50 years and never has seen his homeland, while so many people got back to see it.

Imagine how this person kept on struggling, enhancing his knowledge and working to educate and make people knowledgable and aware of serious issues that threaten their existence on this earth and image how difficult and painful not having anyone to listen to lifetime lessons that could possibly develop their lives!

I started working with these International Dynamics since long years ago, when I spot the shift of Global disorder in the 1989. That was a remarkable date to notice when the deterioration in world affairs has shaped and how the destruction of the global political system has accompanied by the destruction of ecosystem to get the world not only hot, but burning by politics and the heat of the sun that is projected to raise to 70 degrees in the near future.
