Freedom for Refugees in Libya is Not Enough!
by: Admin

Refugees in Libya or in any place do not seek only freedom. They seek international protection.

Things are going very slow these days in the humanitarian fields. Now visiting Libya to get through it to other countries becomes very difficult especially for Eritreans, Somalis, Ethiopian and Sudanese.

In these circumstance while the financial crisis spreads and the recession continues it will take time for the humanitarian efforts to fuel procedures of resettlement. Countries in the West began to check their heads to revise their quotas.

Some of them depend on cheap employment from the eastern countries in Europe to fill marginal occupations in the market. They dislike having additional numbers of political refugees because they are facing problems from the refugees they already had and found that it is difficult to integrate them in the new societies.

Forced integration does not work. Refugees seek multicultural integration not integration from one side.

The question of the integration determines the way countries see whether to accept more refugees or not.

In Libya, there is no such issue. People want to work and if they found chances to get to other countries, it would be better. However, they should have all rights to protection and resettlement.

Refugees in Libya are Freed, at Least!
by: wedi Abuslim

They are at least freed from detentions. Nobody expects more than this freedom in Libya. The Libyan government will not allow refugees to have more freedom that the citizens themselves lack.

Any way, to get the needed freedom and protection, there is a need for solidarity!
