حظر رئيس وزراء إثيوبيا أبي أحمد سفر العاملات الاثيوبيات من بلاده، للعمل كخادمات منازل في السعودية بصفة خاصة، ودول الخليج العربية بصفة عامة، وأعلن أن إثيوبيا تستطيع تشغيل نسائها وفق الإمكانيات المتاحة لها والإمكانيات الجديدة التي تسعي حكومته لإيجادها.
هذا وتفيد التقارير الي ان العديد من خادمات المنازل من مختلف الجنسيات يتعرضن لنوع من إنتهاك الحقوق، ومن ضمن ذلك ذلك حصراً، ما يُعرف بالتحرش الجنسي، مهما كان الوضع الإجتماعي للمتحرش بها جنسياً, (مثلاً: متزوجة، او أم).
Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed issued a decision to prevent the travel of Ethiopian female workers from his country to work as domestic servants in Saudi Arabia in particular, and in the other Arab Gulf states in general, and announced that Ethiopia can employ Ethiopian women in many work places, in accordance with the possibilities available to them and the new possibilities that his government is seeking to find.
It is reported that many domestic workers of different nationalities are subjected to some kind of violation of rights, including those known as sexual harassment, regardless of the social status of sexually abused women (for example: Married, mother).
