First Eritrean Freedom Fighters are Not Child Soldiers!

Democracy Chronicles at democracychronicles.org/eritrean-child-soldier/#comment-85836 wrote under the title "From Eritrean Child Soldier to Swedish Parliamentarian" on May 28, 2015 about Arhe Hamednaca who it said was 15 years old when he became a child soldier in 1968.

I was totally surprised by that specific description of the heroic action the national Eritrean has taken for the sake of his country and I posted the following commentary on that post:


Please, just credibility and well understanding to the Eritrean national struggle! Look at this: He was just 15 years old when, in 1968, he became a child soldier, joining the Eritrean Liberation Front…

It was an honor for all Eritrean nationals that time to flee their homeland and join the national struggle to liberate their homeland. Even very young girls had fled from Asmara and other villages to Sudan to join the Eritrean People's Liberation Front (EPLF). That was the Eritrean pride and we have written it by blood and by lyrics and stories of sacrifices. Whatever, has happened after that will never erase this heroic history of the nation.

There is not any revolution in the entire African continent, or the world as the Eritrean revolution, to face a magnificent power in the world, as the Ethiopian power, which in fact was composed of two contradictory regimes, one of them was empirical in the first period and the other is claimed to be communist in the second period.

It was the first revolution in the world to face a strong and aggressive empirical power assisted by the western countries and to face in the second period a claimed to be communist power assisted by the eastern countries led by the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), during which the fighters of the Eritrean People's Liberation Front (EPLF) arrested Soviet military experts and seized their equipments, in a period I was present through all of its procedures to publish about it and to publish for other Eritrean writers.


As for the mentioned name, with due respect, he was not a child soldier, but a hero and he should be proud of that. If you know the numbers of the Eritrean people and the numbers of the occupying power, and their way to carry the locust invasion, then you'll know the necessities and emergencies for all Eritrean, even those who were in their moms' bellies to be freedom fighters.
