About Darfur!

I think one of the reasons the situation in Darfur doesn't get the same kind of press and concern as, say, the problems between Israel/Palestine is that it involves a Muslim leader, who heads up a Muslim nation which is terrorizing and murdering its own people.

Remember the recent refusal of the members of the Arab League to support U.N. action against the Sudanese President? How they opposed any indictment on war crimes? It wasn't fair....it would destabilize Sudan....it was a Western plot....there were better ways of dealing with the situation.... They cry out for war crimes indictments when the perpetrators are not Muslim.

And seem curiously reluctant to do so when the perpetrator is "one of their own." Which is, of course, basic human nature. And happens with many nations and cultures. Some may manage to overcome that bias. Some haven't as yet.
