World Refugee Day, June 20!

On Sunday June 20, world refugees and the UNHCR will celebrate the International Refugee Day. The events started already including a program by the international refugees' agency to connect activists and refugee people in live stream video.

The first video stream is very poor due to connection and other technical problems and there were not apparently enough preparations for such event in the first broadcasting in the live stream video.

Activists and refugees talked about the development of the situations of refugees in Kuala Lumpur and Djabal (mountain) Camp in Chad where the Sudanese Fur refugees live.

The program will continue elsewhere available to help 5 million refugees at risk in urban environments reach the world through the live video stream.

Statistics of the UNHCR say more than half of the 10.5 million refugees in the UNHCR program live in towns and cities across the world. However, the estimation of refugees worldwide this year is over 40 million refugees.

Just after the celebration of World Refugee Day last year, the UNHCR has helped millions of people in need of shelter, health care training and repatriation around the world.
