Asylum Seekers in Libya Under Great Fear

by Selamawi
(Tripoli)

Dear story recipient

I am one of Eritrean asylum seekers in Libya, in great fear of deportation to Eritrea.

It is hard for a refugees and asylum seekers to live in Libya, as Libya is one of the hell in this world for foreigners.

I have been detained for long with out seeing the court and continuously beaten by the officials to give them money. Every body is experiencing this in Libya. Now a days around 100 Eritreans were arrested when entering Tripoli, they are taken to Twesha Binkeshir prison, some to Surman and the women to Zawiyah prison.

Those in Twesha Binkeshir prison did not have any access to contact people over here and are detained in separate holds not to meet with those who are arrested from Tripoli city. They have been detained for around three weeks and no body knows why their issue is taken secret or if there is some thing a plan to deport them.

So we are in need of urgent assistance as how humanitarian organizations can reach them there and look their issue under the umbrella of UNHCR.

I am including my e-mail so that any one who needs more information can contact me via this address but I am afraid not to include my name.
